Mitutoyo Series 500 ABSOLUTE Digimatic Calipers represent the cutting edge in electronic caliper technology. Equipped with a large LCD display, the Mitutoyo ABSOLUTE digital caliper presents the actual slider position upon activation, streamlining the measurement process. This advanced caliper delivers accurate and repeatable measurements for outside dimensions, inside dimensions, depth, and step dimensions. The caliper’s slide and jaws boast a construction of hardened stainless steel, and optional carbide-tipped jaws are available for added versatility.

ABSOLUTE (ABS) Measurement Function: Facilitating Seamless Absolute-Mode Measurement
The ABSOLUTE (ABS) Measurement Function empowers users to initiate absolute-mode measurements without the necessity for zero-setting after switch-on. The absolute origin position is customizable and can be set or reset using the ORIGIN switch at any moment. This electronic measuring scale offers a direct readout of absolute linear position upon activation, eliminating the need for zeroing or resetting.
Implementation of this capability involves the use of electrostatic, electromagnetic, and a combination of electrostatic and optical methods. The key distinguishing feature is Mitutoyo’s patented technology, which incorporates absolute positional information into the scale, enabling immediate readability at start-up. These linear encoders serve as integral components in Mitutoyo’s measuring instruments, functioning as the in-built length standard. Their widespread use significantly enhances the generation of highly reliable measurement data, especially in demanding environments where performance should remain unaffected by contamination from cutting fluids, coolants, and dust.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) Output: Standard on Metric Models; Optional on Inch/Metric Models
Utilizing statistical methods for monitoring and controlling processes, Statistical Process Control (SPC) enhances quality control efficiency. This application ensures the optimal operation of a process, resulting in the production of products that conform to specifications with minimal waste. SPC cables play a pivotal role in transmitting measurement data from the Digimatic gauge, equipped with the output feature, to various devices such as the Digimatic mini processor, Digimatic display unit, multiplexer, or other compatible devices.
